to config Adblock Plus so that I can still reply without disabling it totally? I've used just the regular Adblock but switched when I went to FF3 b/c it wasn't supported (I think it is now)...and its a pain to disable it every time.
I guess I can switch back to regular Adblock...if need be.
Thanks to any/all the smarter than me peeps!
I may have mentioned to some that I have a big blog post coming about Pride. It is still in its birthing stages as my virtual life is currently taking a backseat to my actual life.
However, I have just returned from the place that does my weighing in thing. This was my first visit since Pride - I figured I needed a few days to drop the pounds I must have gained with all the:
- wine (an embarrassing amount)
- beer (not as much as the wine)
- hot dog
- bbq beef on a bun
- dim sum with Lex&Ger, Jeff and Vicki
- chips
- ice cream ... TWICE!
- boob cake, courtesy Courtney. Chocolate and vanilla. One of each.
- I don't remember what I ate at Pam's. I think there were chips and I think I brought them. Actually, most of that evening is a bit foggy except for a few sweet moments early on that are most definitely not foggy. I also remember the bit at the end where I had to crawl over a very tall fence to get out of the fenced garbage area that I'd become entrapped in. But, I digress ...
- Did I mention the dim sum? That was a whole lotta dim sum ... maybe the guylian saved me ...?
In short, I went to diet hell for several days. But, I'm back now ... and I'm down 3.5 pounds for a total of 58 lbs. I really don't understand how this is possible. Divine intervention, perhaps. Anyway, here I am, down 58 and ready for the final 32. Whoa.
The Future Mr. Scotch & myself have been trying to find a good wedding song for our first dance as husband and wife. Well, that's a simplification. He said he has no opinion, but vetoed my choice, which was Little Red Corvette by Prince. Now, I haven't been to many weddings, but the ones I have attended have featured a LAME first dance song. I want something that's funky, soulful, and romantic. Any and all suggestions will be considered. We have 35 days left and I'm getting really antsy to pick one. Keep in mind, the first dance will take place at an outdoor luau here:
Alternately, if you agree with me that Little Red Corvette is an AWESOME first song, please post that sentiment here and perhaps my man friend can be convinced.
Harvey was a Phooka -
According to legend, the phooka is an adroit shape changer, capable of assuming a variety of terrifying forms. It may appear as a horse, rabbit, goat, goblin, or dog. No matter what form the phooka takes, its fur is almost always dark. (its name is a cognate of the early Irish 'poc', 'a male goat', and it may lend its name to Puck, the goat-footed satyr made famous in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream), but it most commonly takes the form of a sleek black horse with a flowing mane and glowing yellow eyes.
If a human is enticed onto a phooka's back it has been known to give them a wild ride. But unlike a kelpie, which will take its rider and dive into the nearest river or lake to drown and devour him, the phooka will do the unfortunate rider no real harm. The Púca has the power of human speech, and has been known to give advice and lead people away from danger. Though the phooka enjoys confusing and often terrifying humans, it is considered to be benevolent. (from Wikipedia)
In this case, he was just entertaining and kept Jimmy Stewart out the nut house.
There was even a surprise visit by Bernie Kopell who played Conrad Siegfried, Vice President of KAOS, in the original series.
One very interesting character was Dalip Singh who played the henchman for Siegfried. Dalip Singh is a 387 pound power lifter from India who has an extensive background in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Japanese grappling, martial arts, Greco Roman wrestling, western wrestling and the Indian martial art of kalari. He played in the Longest Yard too.
He reminded me of Richard Kiel.

The boss man swung by my office and gave me the winkwink nudgenudge to head out early (or at least I hope that's what it meant...heh)
For me its gonna be a whole bunch of lounging around. I do hope to break out my camera since I haven't taken any real shots in months!
